Morningstar: Vision of Her

Shadows gather below
As the angels soar through skies
Beneath the weeping moon
As if stars suddenly died
Lighting up the new day
Is one who never learned
Cast from the holy kingdom
To spiral in darkness and burn

Enchanting
Demanding
Love that was never deserved
Appalling
This calling
A life I never deserved

From the holy spires to the raging fires
I spy them talking, liars, as fat as friars
Their poisoned spittle hanging on words so brittle
Wasting in their cradles, who here is the devil?

I can feel their eyes
Watching from the eaves
As I walk the line
And refuse to be a slave

The smoke of Faith burning
Sets my blood churning
I wish I may, I wish I might
Bestow vengeance on this house tonight

That last vision of her
A flaming trail to Earth
Is burned in my mind’s eye
As I watch from my perch
The casting from Heaven
So unjust and cruel
Has opened my eyes
And left me for a fool

Once a holy squire to serve my one sire
I learned the fires hold more truth than liars
I will have vengeance, for thus is my penance
Wept until tears are spent, who will hear my lament?

I can hear their cries
Joyous in their greed
I no longer shine
In the eyes of God

The sight of Faith loving
Had the lord blaming
And so He did, and so He damned
Me from his sight into the eastern sands

That last vision of her
Strengthens my lasting will
Into red hot fury
The world around is still
My casting from Heaven
Has left me a wraith
Put me on the path
My quest to find my Faith

Enchanting
Demanding
Love that was never deserved
Appalling
This calling
A life I never deserved

That last vision of her
Gripping my beating heart
I can still taste her tears
Secret kiss in the dark
Our casting from Heaven
Freed us from the chains
And opened my eyes
To the pleasures of pain

I can hear your cries
Of your wants and needs
I at last will shine
The Morningstar
I am your God
