Summer Nights

There was something about the moon and the stars on a cool summer night
Something about a love so timeless
Whose desires still burn so vividly
Three billion light years away

You were my moon
You shone so brightly in my blackest nights
Yet you always had a dark side
That haunted you from behind

Your eyes were my sunset
Beautifully falling into a vast cascade of intimate space
I would watch those sunsets for hours
While dancing in spring flower fields

Your lips were like ocean waves
Bubbling onto my surface
Kissing  my shores
Then falling away so discrete

How could you not love something so helplessly sweet
You were my smooth breeze after inhaling green leaves
Like a rainbow peaking through wet satin stained clouds
You showed the beauty in my storm
