To be or not to be anonymous

I want to show my face to you
so you can see
the girl behind the mask
who I pretend to be

but sometimes my words
are provocative
I let my heart speak

How can I let your read
my private di-ar-y  

If I hide my face it's easier
to speak my unspoken truth
It's easier to be honest with a stranger
and that is the sad and sordid truth

Can I trust you
with my secrets
that I would whisper in the dark
can I show you my face
and trust you with my heart

for you are a nameless stranger
one who takes the time to read
the ramblings of a 21 year old
