Standing tall...
Stand in strength, though I am weary,
but in doubt I will not fall,
and if you take me, do it quickly,
for still, I will stand tall.
Strip my flesh and crush my bones,
see me bleed and hear me weep,
but not once, will my head bow,
despite all this, I will stand tall.
Take my heart and lay it bare,
wreck my life if you so care,
but my heart will never vary,
as its strength will keep me tall.
Tear my soul, shred it to pieces,
strip my heart, cleave it in two,
my depth of spirit will outwit you,
and I will stand, forever tall.
but in doubt I will not fall,
and if you take me, do it quickly,
for still, I will stand tall.
Strip my flesh and crush my bones,
see me bleed and hear me weep,
but not once, will my head bow,
despite all this, I will stand tall.
Take my heart and lay it bare,
wreck my life if you so care,
but my heart will never vary,
as its strength will keep me tall.
Tear my soul, shred it to pieces,
strip my heart, cleave it in two,
my depth of spirit will outwit you,
and I will stand, forever tall.
