Destroyer of worlds

(My submission the the "Armageddon" competition. )
 
So close yet so far away
It is night in the deep of space
All head and heel in disarray
The giant sleeps in a frozen embrace
It is not God or an Angel race
That comes in the end from the sky
You will see it face to face
When rock and rock collide
 
Hurled like a bullet after the bang
And forged through infinite heat
From the furthest point of the astral plane
Heads a projectile of frozen debris
An unstoppable force unhindered by gravity
Consuming all things in its path
Devouring stars as it ravishes galaxies
It's appetite will go unmatched
 
Radioactive without the fallout
And lead without the bore
Death from above with no air raid sirens to call out
No dropping bombs and no "Hit the floor!"
There will be no post-apocalyptic survivor war
There will be no survivors at all
Our shattered and broken planet will be scattered galore
As man and god both fall
 
It will be seen in the daytime sky
With definition like the moon
Heading toward our earth and twice the size
Armageddon is coming soon  
They call it a Rouge Planet and Asteroid of doom
Without warning it came from behind the sun
Fear and panic quickly ensue  
For the destroyer of worlds has come
