Dying Angel
Angel, why have you clipped your wings
And clothed yourself in shadows and dead dreams?
Your roses perished
Another's resplendency you could not cherish
Angel, were you afraid of my petals?
Was comparing your beauty to them too dreadful?
Have you been pondering too long at your iniquity?
Have you lost all your dignity?
Angel, your deathly eyes gaze so far away
Did He make the sky rain, did it feel like betray?
You have no wings now to hide under
Yet you try to sleep through His lightning and thunder
Angel, do the demons cling to you?
Consequences you wish you knew
Their teeth have pulled you under the earth
Since the day of your precious birth
Angel, why does your light shine so dimly?
Why do your eyes stare so grimly?
Your light slightly flickers as you so gracefully lay
Your dead feathers turn an ashy grey
Dying Angel
Star so far; just a soft twinkle
Angel, doesn't the cold dark make you shiver?
So lost in guilt from your bad behavior
Has the world turned you corrupt?
Has it made you fall and give up?
Angel, I see you hardly try
No sound, not even a sigh
Innocence; it is not possible to keep it
Yet you always look back to seek it
Angel, don't let the demons repair you
They well just send you down too
But above the heavens blind and glare
Angry you have left your shoulders bare
Angel, you've let your voice go
Breathing too slow
Dead feathers blushing
Not sure of what's coming
Dying angel
So gentle
Nearly a snuffed out candle
Angel, what have you done breaking your legs
Your smile so quickly fades
Don't follow the demons delusions
Or you'll be trapped in your temptations
Angel, you lay so still
Emptiness you can't seem to fill
A pool of red petals flow underneath your hand
Forgiveness you cannot understand
Dying angel
No longer you have to tremble
Or thoughts in such a tangle
I envy you dying Angel
No longer so fearful and fragile
And clothed yourself in shadows and dead dreams?
Your roses perished
Another's resplendency you could not cherish
Angel, were you afraid of my petals?
Was comparing your beauty to them too dreadful?
Have you been pondering too long at your iniquity?
