You laugh drove me crazy
Your smile sent me over the edge
Spiraling down into pure bliss
Butterflies filling my stomach
That was already tied in knots
I got to call you mine
For the amount of time
That passes
In the blink of an eye
In my eyes you were perfection
The heaven I imagine I might see
The day I take my last breath
Were those short weeks
Just enough time to get hooked
On your kisses
On your silly expressions
On your perfect self?
You created this relationship
You made me fall for you
So why is it, that now I sit
Writing another broken hearted poem
About you, another guy who didn't care enough
To stay?
Meanwhile you probably
Aren't thinking about me at all
Did you plan to stick
Around from the start?
Or did you get disappointed
When I didn't put out?
What were you thinking
While you held me in the night
Shielding me from the cold
And kissed my nose?
What were you thinking
While you hugged me close
For the last time
And gave me one last kiss
As my hand slipped out of yours?
These questions will never be answered
So I'll be left unknowing
Sitting here asking myself,
What did I do wrong?
