My forever bleeding heart
As its shiny silver chain hangs
loosely around my neck
I trace its thorny stems,
and pedals in full bloom
My skin often burns
from where it lays, as its radiates
the slightest hint of doom
Sometimes my sad eyes linger
upon its forever bleeding heart
Unable to tear them away
from its delicate beauty
Like a precious work of art
A reminder of what once was
the purest kind of love
But that can no longer be
For it is now tainted by your damning logic
and harsh reality
Yet still I wear the heart you gave me
I wear it with much pride
for though your love for me has faded
Mine will never die.
