A Walk Toward Death
A endless horizon awaits
Nothing interesting expected
Sweat touches the face
No destinations headed
Walking limp and numb
Sun raping skin
Blood seeps down my leg
Life wheres thin
Every breath a second toward Death
I greet him as a friend
No need to repent my sins
I'm going to die. Slowly.
Throat like ashes
Stomach of needles
Eyes of sorrow
Heart of Hell
Skies spotted by stars
or day embered by blue
Just take me now
But its only begun
Sand so lifeless
Burns at the touch
But its my only companion
And its killing me
Spine starts to snap
I cringe at the second
Mind takes me away
Eyes start to fade
Air feels still
No scent, no chill
But I hear Death laughing
It echoes in my head
I trip over nothing
lay breathless near my friend
I turn and say "I love you"
Then my spirit desends
"Hello Death, I've been waiting for you."
