My Own Personal Collection

You never collect dust, and you love the attention. A beat up book that
catches your eye in the basement level of a library. You spread yourself
open for all to read. You catch the readers eye with your worn cover
and your sad story. Ive read it all before, but the first couple
chapters intrigued me. Even though everyone has had their way with you
and have had their hands all over your pages, I borrowed you from the
public library. Unlike everyone else, I had every intention of keeping
you for myself. I read the first couple chapters, but there was so many
missing pages. Your story got old after awhile. I lost interest, and
skimmed through you. It was just the same story over and over again.
Chapter 2 identical to chapter 5, your story dragged on and on, but i
wasn't through with you. You still didn't make sense to me, and i had to
know the dramatic conclusion to your story. I grew impatient, flipped
through your pages impulsively not caring to hear the rest of it. I just
wanted to know how it ended. Unsatisfied with your ending, i tore the
last page out and left a post-it with a small note in its place reading:
" I knew it was gonna end like this, but i fell for it. I knew you were
just like everyone else, but i wanted to believe that you were
different... story of my life" But dont worry babe, you hold a special
place in my own personal library, maybe for once you'll collect dust.
