Demons.
I see those eyes,
Foggy with mistrust,
Distance strong in the blank green.
They travel across the room,
Tears rebelling against the restraint.
The time seems to soar by.
Take in the screaming echoes.
As the room spirals and twirls,
Her eyes remained locked.
Locked on the past.
She downs another shot,
The burning a slight satisfaction.
A reminder she's still here,
In the present,
The demons yet to capture.
But she has scars to tell stories.
Oh,
They were so close.
Is this going to be a cat and mouse game?
'Til her breath runs out?
You see her walk by on the sidewalk,
Just another face among the crowd.
Blending in with the smiles and laughs,
Hiding the overwhelming aches.
Just another face.
Foggy with mistrust,
Distance strong in the blank green.
They travel across the room,
Tears rebelling against the restraint.
The time seems to soar by.
Take in the screaming echoes.
As the room spirals and twirls,
Her eyes remained locked.
Locked on the past.

The burning a slight satisfaction.
A reminder she's still here,
In the present,
The demons yet to capture.

Blending in with the smiles and laughs,
Hiding the overwhelming aches.
Just another face.
