How Much Can You Take?

If i give in
Let you set me on fire
Will you be able to stand in the blaze
Of that burning pyre?

If i let myself fall
Into what i see in your eyes
Can you handle it
If I'm the cause for when it withers and dies?

If i fall in
To part of the temptations
Will you try not to squirm
At the odd fascinations?

If i go numb
And feel empty inside
Will you be offended
When its something i can't hide?

If you get a few glimpses
Of how deep the madness goes
Will you be able to take it
Or become one of its foes?

Can you ignore the monster
When it tries to reach out
No matter how it pleads
Or what obscenities it will shout?

If maybe you witness
Me drown in my tears
Can you withstand mocking
My insecure fears?

I'm not asking for promises
Or anything of the kind
I just wonder how wide
Is that open mind?
