heroes call in sick too

now your stress is
your companion
explosions in the sky
and you dont care, it doesnt phase
you
at first, you wanted
someone to reach out
to you, anyone
from your best friends
family, or that one person who
hangs out in front of the
liquor store all day as you go
in and give a
little nod for a hello
therapy is too expensive
so you dont bother
and vigilantes are once
every blue moon
no signals in the air
as you look up and stare
but you give yourself a little grin
because its not gonna happen
and if it does,
if you see that cape in
the sky, or signal, as
you stand on top of the
building, you ask yourself,
"will he or she respond?"
"will they catch you as your
falling from the sky?"
or will you get there answering machine?
