It twists the heart
Bends your thoughts
Makes you second guess
Argue and depart

To put the other first
Above everyone else
Always top of mind
Can make some feel cursed

But to feel it and know
To believe without fear
Have no shadows of doubt
Security of to and fro

This is truly rare
A blessed gift
The peace of mind
Two equally share

For this can take some time
It may need to mature
Some never feel safe
Unforgiving a past crime

Love without shared trust
Can steal one's sanity
Rob them of happiness
Live with hate and disgust

Searching for clues
Playing dime store detective
Expecting the worse
Crying the blues

If it has been years
Ask yourself this;
Is there no trust for a reason?
Do you see a future full of tears?
