Sweet Thing, Little Thing

Sweet thing, little thing,
Do you know how to sing?
Are you mute? Well Dear?
Dear, control your fear.

Pushed out of the nest,
Momma says "Do your best!"
With a note scribbled,
The meaning almost riddled.

She says the mother's words,
But the truth burns.
She was never around,
Little one can't make a sound.

Sweet thing, little thing,
Want a diamond ring?
Daddy can't buy it, too bad.
Momma wants it too, so sad.

You've been ignored,
A constant lock on the door.
It never opens, I know.
The door to a broken puppet show.

The people dance around,
While little one drowns.
Nobody stopped and stared,
Little one wanted them to cared.

Sweet thing, little thing,
Does your heart sting?
You sing a cryptic melody,
One of losing tragedy.

Sing, let out the sound.
In a pure white gown,
Little one stands alone.
The crowd of no one home.

The stage, the lights.
The mind, how it fights.
The screaming, oh, it's you.
Little one fell through.

Sweet thing, little thing,
Never to be king.
The stage is cleared,
The lights disappeared.

The crown has fallen,
The memories forgotten.
Little one's face,
The joy long since erased.

A bird's broken wing,
It can no longer sing.
Little one, open your mouth,
Watch the world go south.
