Homeward Bound
Slumped shoulders
it seems I forgot
how to breath as skin
hardens like a shell
and I cannot dispel
this awkward curse
giving me six feet
worth of dirt in sack cloth
and I will carry it home
over slumped shoulders
across the miles which
are layered in the depth
of Winter
and these tired knees
will bend until I am home
once again
it seems I forgot
how to breath as skin
hardens like a shell
and I cannot dispel
this awkward curse
giving me six feet
worth of dirt in sack cloth
and I will carry it home
over slumped shoulders
across the miles which
are layered in the depth
of Winter
and these tired knees
will bend until I am home
once again
