Sitting here holding you tight within my arms
hugging you and holding you close to keep you warm.
Shushing your cries
while drying your eyes.
Whispering assurance in your ears...
Hush love, don't cry.
Sing another lullaby.
Don't worry baby, mommies here...

Every scratch, burn, and fall
I'll be there for it all
helping you get back on your feet.
Every doubt, hurt, and shame
I'll help you through the pain.
Mistakes you'll learn and not repeat.

God has helped me see
there is no place id rather be
than right here keeping you safe.
So sush your cries
and dry your eyes.
Don't worry love, mommies here...

On day you'll be a man, successful and strong
making me proud of the life you've lead.
And one day I'll grow old
my body brittle and cold
lying before you weak on my death bead...

This is the moment I've been preparing for
I knew my time would come.
Now its time to say my final goodbyes
I couldn't have raised a better son...

And when my body has breath its last breath
I want you to smile through your tears.
Recall those moments of your mothers love
and I will be with you through out your own years.

I may not be there in person to share with you
the new precious moments you will hold dear.
But I promise you if you look deep within your heart
you'll find me love...mommies here...
