Hold Me, the Tree Said.
[b]Hold me,
The tree said to the wind.
Show me what I have been missing.
Caress me until the warmth of the sunset ends.
And I can no longer see past my autumn leaves.
Kiss me with a gentle breeze.
While I stand fixated under the indigo sky
Bleeding a thousand generations.
Give me meaning
Because I have watched as flowers have rised and withered away
Under the passing moon.
Whispering to me their secrets.
Sharing with me their past.
Showing how fragile a soul can be.
I have been centered on this earth
Infatuated with life and death.
Obsessed with never being able to love another soul.
Hold me,
The tree said to the wind.
Show me what I have been missing.
Give my life meaning.
