The Vampire

Lives life as a tainted soul,
The cold heart refuses to beat,
Skin as pale as a lily's petal,
The frozen body has lost it's heat.

The once rich blood has stopped flowing,
The body never seems past due,
It has not met it's plotting grave,
Defied Death's unwritten rule.

A strong creature of the night
Canno't venture out by day.
For the sun's bewitching glow,
Will scorn the body's silvery grey.

Clawed fingers long to touch
And feel a mortal's breathing skin.
Though be mindful of any paper cuts,
The smell of blood awakens the beast within.

It's touch as cold as fresh snow,
It's kiss, a cool, frosty mist.
It's eyes tell countless, meaningless stories,
It's fangs sip the mortal's bloody brew.

Do not quiver at the damned angel,
For it's more miserable than any unlucky jest.
Doomed to walk the Earth forever,
And never to find a place for final rest.
