Lull

SSsh
'lil baby
don't you weep
For these life stained poppies
shall make you sleep

Mother brings hope with
soft skinned prey
so that you may feast
before light of day
And if by chance your downed one
twitches

He begs half broken, and undone
~ so fulfil his wishes
Then close tight your eyes
my precious one
Rest you well, my love
'til again moonlight comes
You needn't worry 'lil one
of where your next meal lies
Easily herded, my shadow
swallows the cries
Down streets, fields and, dark
alleyways

mother subdues them
quite efficiently
without delay
So ~
SSssh
my 'lil baby
don't you weep

We shall make their lives meaningful
~ as the body count creeps....
