Into the White

Scaling summit
biting back at
wind, with grit.
boot-blade driven
into iced earth.
Unloading burdens
height's peak;
ashes become dust.

Ashes stricken
to Iced particles
glittering in sunlight,
penetrating
the hazed
sullen mists
kept my oath
I begin my descent.

Boot-blade
driven
into iced earth.
Bare hands
blistered;
pleading me to feel.
Complimenting righteousness
the corralled, we few serve.

Dare I brave
white death?
Least I'm cut down
and left to bleed out
the snow
smothered;
blood red.

Wolves my kin,
I advance with them.
Their bloodied claws,
dripping life force in the sun;
siphoned.

The snow is shining
my muscles relax,
powdered into submission.
snow so soft;
ingraining the softness into me.

I take it not as weakness
but rather acceptance.
The Righteous
always accept it.
My will for
survival; melting
with the snow;
settling.

I become the White,
nary a time for decay
but rather a finish
of finesse.
