Dying Inspiration

the hole in the floor lets the light in
while the window in the door casts a shadow of doubt
nailed shut to keep the ideas inside
hidden words fall to the floor and die
the air bows to a fleck of dust
floating upon the breath of a dying thought
nothing becomes everything
and everything is cast aside
it all matters naught when the air is burning
invisible flames scorch the edges of reality
and everything becomes something
inspiration turns to ash and is swept away
in a whirlwind of dying thoughts and ideas
the air grows stale and stagnant
reeking of death and decay
corpses of thoughts litter the tiny space
and the feeble ray of light is extinguished
by ever-growing doubt
everything is lost
irrational thought becomes rational
inspiration turns to a sour taste
and the idea of an idea is laid to waste
