The Journey Home
Darkness cloaks your haunting visage,
Taking you away from me.
I scream in horror as you die,
Turn away and like a coward I flee.
I cry out to you,
But you never hear.
You're still by me,
When I'm loneliest, you are most near.
Cradling your memory,
Like a newborn soul.
My tears leaving invisible scars,
I'll never again be whole.
I turn to anger,
Rage igniting the fire of life.
But your memory holds me away from and guides me to,
A life influenced and ruled by strife.
Torn in two,
But whole at the same time,
Clambering towards light,
Out of the pit of darkness I climb.
But alas, alas,
I have tethered my soul to him,
Without you by my side,
My future is grim.
So fairfarren, farewell,
To all you who forced me to roam.
And to my love...
I'll soon be home.
Taking you away from me.
I scream in horror as you die,
Turn away and like a coward I flee.
I cry out to you,
But you never hear.
You're still by me,
When I'm loneliest, you are most near.
Cradling your memory,
Like a newborn soul.
My tears leaving invisible scars,
I'll never again be whole.
I turn to anger,
Rage igniting the fire of life.
But your memory holds me away from and guides me to,
A life influenced and ruled by strife.
Torn in two,
But whole at the same time,
Clambering towards light,
Out of the pit of darkness I climb.
But alas, alas,
I have tethered my soul to him,
Without you by my side,
My future is grim.
So fairfarren, farewell,
To all you who forced me to roam.
And to my love...
I'll soon be home.
