Silence
I know not of where I'm going, only where I have been
Light this fire in my heart. So it may light the path of the future
Only to be extinguished by the workings of another.
Stolen from the very ashes of the fire from which I drew warmth
Her blood runs freely through the river cut into the wrists that support her
As she dies, I see myself in her shadow, haunted by the mistakes of her judgement
The cold, serated steel that was drawn across her tender flesh mocks me
Her blood and my tears mix in a draught of despair, tinged with turmoil
A despair as deep and dark as the sea, only cured by the bleeding of my own vein
As I take the blade that stole the life of another, portraying the carelessness of my other
A sense of calm washes over me, with the thoughts of a perpetual silence filling my head
It is my time to take the life that was so thoughtfully given.
It is done.
The blood runs from my heart
Its vivid color is beautiful, its warmth overwhelming
I will join her in the great, barren abyss
The flame is extinguished
Silence at last
Light this fire in my heart.
