Racism is Racism even if it the same race

When will we put the chicken down
I know it’s your favorite
Maybe I should
Get you some watermelon
Your lips are watering
Just from me saying it
Since your lips are watery
How about some cornbread
That will help dry it

I may sound racist, but
I’m only talking about
My own kind
Does me saying that
Make you feel a little better  

We spend so much time
Building up these walls
Made out of legos
Thinking that since
I’m the one they’re talking about
It’s okay if I say those things

Well I’m sorry my friend
It’s therapy that you are need
You can perpetuate the cycle
If you want to, but I want

It’s one thing to make
A light hearten joke
But it’s another to do it
Because you want to fix in
And to scared to jump that rope

It’s bad enough that other race
May be racist to use
It’s even worse when we’re
RACIST TO OURSELVES
