What used to be
We used to play like we were in high school,
We used to be together all the time and act a fool,
Others saw us together and thought we were so cool,
We never thought of either one of us as a tool,
We looked in each others eyes and would still trip,
We used to hold hands like we were on a field trip,
In tight situations you would hold me with a tight grip, And I would respond with a slight kiss to your lower lip,
On the 1st day of our story it all seemed so bright,
But I guess even day has to give way to night,
At every small spark we would just fight,
My armour rusted and I was no longer your knight,
I weep and pray at the altar with my plea,
That my face would turn to a face full of glee,
Maybe this is all a test to make us who we will be,
But every single night,
I long and crave for everything we had
and what used to be
We used to be together all the time and act a fool,
Others saw us together and thought we were so cool,
We never thought of either one of us as a tool,
We looked in each others eyes and would still trip,
We used to hold hands like we were on a field trip,
In tight situations you would hold me with a tight grip, And I would respond with a slight kiss to your lower lip,
On the 1st day of our story it all seemed so bright,
But I guess even day has to give way to night,
At every small spark we would just fight,
My armour rusted and I was no longer your knight,
I weep and pray at the altar with my plea,
That my face would turn to a face full of glee,
Maybe this is all a test to make us who we will be,
But every single night,
