Haunted Words
(See if you can find the ghost in the poem - clue - its a poem within a poem)
Your
words haunt me
Their
promises echoing down corridors
Crunching
underfoot like broken glass
Leaving
red wounds on unprotected skin
Blood
stained syntax is irremovable
Seeping
through to unused diary pages
Why won’t you whisper louder?
Verbs
are vibrating in the silence
The
sound of my pulse rushing in my ears
I
catch a glimpse of consonants clinging to cobwebs
Syllables
singing like sirens scratching themselves into the walls
A
sigh a silhouette of a noun, lips mouthing a name
Lamented
letters lingering in lonely corridors
Without
weight they are a hush
A
brush of breathless wind
But
shush...
Your
words are only ghosts to me.

Read again but this time read only the first word of each line... Done it ?
Did you find my poem within a poem? No here it is
