Friends before Sex

You said that you care for me
and want to be best friends
but if we fell in love
all of this would have to end.

Both of us are scared
and that's bound to happen...
We both have been married
and I don't want that again.

I DO care about you
and wish the best in your life
but I'm not planning on you forever
and I don't want to be your wife.

We're best friends
and I want it to stay that way.
If we are intimately closer
that might be the only way.

Part of me thinks that sucks
but I know you care about me...
We both can't get over our pasts yet...
I just want to be free.

Free from all the drama
and everything in between
I like you and you like me
that's only what its gonna be.

So don't expect more from me
its just making me nervous
because too much has happened
I don't want to be jealous.

Lets just take it slow
and continue to be just friends
we'll have fun and still care
I'm too scared our friendship will end.
