Unchained From Mortality

If this lullaby sang endlessly, Would the swans fly away to better days
If this desolate sound became my anthem, Would the angels still surround me
If tonight rose up and fought off the dawn, Would the shadows fight the light
If I gave in to the voices, Would the captors of my soul give me to heaven or hell

The horizon looks so tempting, Urging me to forgo every pleasure and pain
The sun dips down, Casting doubt upon my heart, The darkness comes once more
The answers lie beyond the flesh, A destiny no mortal can withstand
The questions plague my mind once again, I must seek that which I can never find

If I fell today, Would you seek my hand beyond the flames
If I sank today, Would you seek my hand beyond the waves
If I rose today, Would you seek my hand beyond the heavens
If I gave in today, Would you seek my hand beyond the veil

The world will never stop spinning, Endlessly mocking my futile attempts
I am hopelessly outnumbered, An army of one against an army of thousands
I will stand united, I will fall united, I will not give in to fear or death today
I am the master of my fate, No death can take that from me, No hell can take my honor

Don’t shed a tear for me, I am where I belong
As a man of rights, I consumed my share of wrongs
Through the raging storm, I remain forever strong
Blind to weakness, Blind to limitations, I am unchained from mortality
