Haunted

Empathetic emptiness,
Maybe a little hate.
Until you came along,
I thought this was my fate.

You gave me hope,
They gave me scorn.
You gave me love,
My heart was torn.

To leave or stay,
Accept or decline?
Wanting to hold you close,
Wishing to call you mine.

Finally the sun shone down,
You held my heart so dear.
But such perfection can never last,
I should've seen the end was near.

Then you left,
Then you died.
We both said forever,
Turns out you lied....

You haunt my day,
You haunt my night.
They expect me to forget you,
But I won't give up this fight.

You haunt my memories,
I'll let you stay.
You and I cannot be,
But I'll love you forever, all the way.
