Gone to waste,
Over drugs & alcohol

I thought I was different
From everyone's that died,
But the older I get
Their similarities I still deny,
All in their early forties
Their caskets I had to bury,
Thinking about our friendship
Makes my eyes get blurry,
Tears I've wept
Ponds I've cried,
Wondering if they made it
Or were there souls denied,
I know I'm on the same road
As so many have traveled,
Drugs and Alcohol got em
They lost the battle,
Can you make it,
After living so long like this
I hope Teen-Challenge is my ticket,
God, give me the power
The will to endure,
This 14 month coarse
