Perseverance

I'm not proud of these scars,
But believe me I'm fine,
These scars they're reminders of the struggle called "life"

I see them everyday, and sometimes in disarray,
For letting them take control of my life some days.

I'm not proud of these scars,
But believe me I'm fine,
These scars they're reminders of the struggle called "life"

I notice the eyes,
Looking at my skin,
Questioning the lies, I once let in.
People ask me "why?" and I shrug I suppose,
That the rush I get is uncontrollable.

I'm not proud of these scars,
But believe me I'm fine,
These scars they're reminders of the struggle called "life"

You're not me, you wouldn't understand,
Get scars on your skin, then you'll know first hand.
It's not for the thrill, or the dripping of blood,
It's for the relief I get, once the bleeding is done.

I'm not proud of these scars,
But believe me I'm fine,
These scars they're reminders of the struggle called "life"
