You say you want honesty but when it comes you can’t take it.
I forget sometimes that you are not yet a woman, but not a child
You’re caught in between and have plans for your life
While I know how plans often don’t come to pass
And I know this from experience
I’m only offering you honesty and experiences I’ve went through
In hopes you avoid my mistakes
And pass by the places that will smash your heart and your dreams
I want you to overcome what took me so long to see
That making new plans, adjusting them is the way to go
The only way to come out on top
The way to win and not let your nemesis win
I cry for you
The tears you’ll cry for yourself later
The pain and heartbreak you’ll feel when you’re broken
And torn down by life
Life outside of home is so attractive
But really
It’s lonely
Heartbreaking
Sad
Exhausting
It’s where we learn what we really desire
Who is important to have, to keep in our lives
Where we make the decision to be positive or negative
Do we want lies or truth?
What values do we hold dear?
What people are really like and sometimes our family doesn’t seem so bad
We learn how much our parents sacrificed for us and what we’re willing to sacrifice ourselves
I cry for you
For me
It seems I can’t be honest without losing everyone
Trying to be positive and offer a positive solution, I guess isn’t what you’re looking for
Jealous I am not, but sad for what I know will fall upon you as you travel this road we call life
Knowing I can’t help. You don’t want it anyway.
