The Maureen Rave
Lying this evening saddened,
I think of Maureen and all the thoughts I'd thought
Thoughts of four days and her,
Selfish thoughts
I feel like such a fool
Devastated in my vulnerable weakness
I should be more man,
Keep my roaring emotions in check,
Curtail my need to be with her
My desperate eagerness.
I know I can, and I should
Still I find that I hope, against reason,
Against better judgment,
That she will find cause to change mind.
Curtail your desperate eagerness.
I know you can.
I know you will
I think of Maureen and all the thoughts I'd thought
Thoughts of four days and her,
Selfish thoughts
I feel like such a fool
Devastated in my vulnerable weakness
I should be more man,
Keep my roaring emotions in check,
Curtail my need to be with her
My desperate eagerness.
I know I can, and I should
Still I find that I hope, against reason,
Against better judgment,
That she will find cause to change mind.
Curtail your desperate eagerness.
I know you can.
I know you will
