My youngest
your earthen brown eyes
DNA from your father
like Galaxy chocolate
ebony lashed
that would make girls envious
those appled cheeks
perfect little spheres
that I've kissed a million times
a bit red tonight
from Etna erupted gums
a wet little chin
I try to keep dribble free
your immaculate skin
softer than a perfect peach
covers you from toe to head
after your bath sitting on my lap
your baby hands trying to catch the dancing dust
caught in sunrays
poking through venetian blinds
I love the still black night
when my children sleep
and you, my youngest
are in my arms
and I sing you into peaceful slumber
your saucer eyes
heavily lidded
falling under......
those lustrous lashes
meeting for the night.
