potential 101

often times we live our lives by the book
and forgot to turn the page to a new chapter
so that there can be an ever after

it's sad to watch a person live without regrard
to the standards of really living
that is why we must live life to the fullest

and we must never let the glass run empty or overflow
a time will come when that glass tips over and spills
but also was a time when that glass was poured into

we can thank the hands that did the pouring
we can scorn them for what they put in
but they did it all the same

because the world was thirsty
and needed a drink
so i don't think we should judge what liquid diet mother earth follows

but know this : what ever substance fills the glass of your life
you have quenched mother earth's thirst
and your deed is done

for no one can truly live a poor life if you simply live it
however, your will determines where your potential leads
not your substance and not the glass

we all have potential
and we all can choose not to use it
although, it would be nice to try

regardless of a when, who, what, where, how, and why.
