Gone Dry...

I hate what you have become,
everything you have done
to hurt those that love you.

You're so fucking selfish,
you only see two feet in front of you,
rather than the whole picture.

You are this sad, disgusting mixture
of lost drive and lost inspiration,
your happiness is a poor imitation
of what you were once capable of.

God, I have wanted so much more for you,
but you are a lost hope to me,
and I see
that by giving up I am hurting us both,
but I can't do this anymore.

You have hurt me too much for too long,
and you do not belong in my life.
The bruises of my childhood are just barely
underneath my skin, and though I rarely
bring this up, I haven't ever forgiven
or forgotten.

Your heart is rotten, and now its beginning to stink,
and I don't want this strife anymore.

Where a young heart once adored
you, now it holds you in pure contempt.

So this is the end, the end of your sadness
and bitter turmoil.  Do not look to me for love,
for I am a well of love gone dry...
