the end.
What scares me most is having my truth turned into lies,
my breezy summers by the poolside actually hot desert mirages where I think I see water but even my tears are dry.
I’m afraid to see your face & it be exact opposite of what I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, believe when I say looks aren’t everything but when you put an image in my head my mind matches it up with personalities like the quick quizzes in classes where definitions actually come in handy.
I’d like to believe you’re everything I thought you were.
You’re perfect for me, as perfect as you found me to be
because I really feed off the joy you brought me, infact I believe that’s what keeps me alive.
God himself probably couldn’t convince me that you were meant for someone else.
Like your skies didn’t shine light on me.
Like the smile you held never had the radiance I’ve seen,
& If it did it wasn’t for me,
everything we had was everything I hoped for,
more than a dream,
less of a heartache,
a headache if you may.
A lesson taught, a lesson learned & I regret nothing.
