all is quiet but all is not calm
there's heavy tension in the air
God, i wish i wasn't here
please don't shout
just let me out
as tempers flair and
tension mounts
what a strain, i feel drained
i pray that peace will come again
another fight right at our door
we survive it, emotions running high

LOL!@ That was funny. No, I wrote this about the day I worked during a disturbance at a prison. Actually worked there for six years many years ago. So good to see you stopped by. Faith

Something entirely different/interesting from your pen, Faith. I liked the read a lot. At first I thought you must have known someone who had been in prison. Excellent flow, insightful & thought provoking. Well done, friend & always wonderful to see you, here! :)

Thank you, Gabe. I worked in the records department so when we learned of the disturbance we locked ourselves inside so the inmates could not get in. I stayed pretty calm for the most part knowing we were locked in as well as surrounded by guards on the outside. As always, I appreciate your feedback. xo Faith
