Image for the poem don

don't let me die

all is quiet but all is not calm
there's heavy tension in the air
God, i wish i wasn't here
please don't shout
just let me out
as tempers flair and
tension mounts

what a strain, i feel drained
i pray that peace will come again
another fight right at our door
we survive it, emotions running high
turning inward i silently pray
please dear Lord don't let me die
inside these prison walls
