Electric Giants
Monsters monstrosity
less like sun, more like set
an orange glow of power
arms that reach forever
black and thin
full of life and death
they feed us
they warm us
no one ever
warned us that wed need them
a cold sun and a windshield
the picture in my mind
i can't see the beauty in this
decimation of natural light
up for nights on end
all because unwanted gifts
ominous they stand so still
steel and thoughts will turn the wheel
Power to the people
but this is where the lightning lives
i see the faces of the too far gone
and wonder what has to give
banging and begging for all of us
my knees are weak
my eyes crushed under salt and tears
the sun will only bleach
they go up so high
they never look down
but the day they do
is the day we drown
less like sun, more like set
an orange glow of power
arms that reach forever
black and thin
full of life and death
they feed us
they warm us
no one ever
warned us that wed need them
a cold sun and a windshield
the picture in my mind
i can't see the beauty in this
decimation of natural light
up for nights on end
all because unwanted gifts
ominous they stand so still
steel and thoughts will turn the wheel
Power to the people
but this is where the lightning lives
i see the faces of the too far gone
and wonder what has to give
banging and begging for all of us
my knees are weak
my eyes crushed under salt and tears
the sun will only bleach
they go up so high
they never look down
but the day they do
is the day we drown
