If only~ my dad had been a better father to me
If only~ my mom hadn't been so blind as to not see
If only~ my foster parents had wanted me to stay
If only~ I felt more secure, so I didnt have to run away
If only~ There wasn't so much pressure to conform
If only~ There wasn't the need to perform
If only~ He had kept his hands to himself
If only~ I knew how to get someone to love me more than
   anyone else
If only~ Love could be stronger than any amount of time
   and distance
If only~ I could be worth more than just a peasant's
   mere pittance
If only~ my girls didn't have to grow up without me
If only~ I could be there to help them be happy
If only~ I hadn't been so stupid as to wind up here
If only~ I hadn't drunk that damn beer
If only~ I didn't always feel like wanting to cry
If only~ I wasn't sitting here wondering why
If only~ I had been happier with my life... more satisfied
   just being me....
I wouldn't be sitting here lonely....
