Poppy dreams bring butterflies
they dance behind your eyes
I lie still in the darkness
and await the next sunrise
Poppy dreams from poppy tears
tears that cry of opium's lore
I lie still in the darkness
to get more, myself I'd whore
Poppy dreams pull you under
slowly pulling you down
I lie still in the darkness
freed, now buried underground
