Short Story: Silver and Gold

Once upon a time there was girl
She was kind of lost in this world
She looked here and there in the search of true love
Until she decided not to depend on luck and ask the man above
She got on her knees and asked God why?
Why in all of my searches have I not found the right guy?
They say good things come to those who wait
But I started looking at 21 and now I’m soon to be 28.
I know I’m your child and I’m sounding impatient
But can you please send somebody to end my frustration?
About a month later God answered her call
He knew of her struggles, her journey and all.
He reached in his pocket and pulled out for her a blessing
But every real blessing comes with a lesson
He didn’t send her one man he sent her three
How will this work out? Just wait and see
Now back on Earth the girl was at home
Relaxing herself and talking on the phone
And then she heard a sudden knock on her door
It was three guys all dressed to impress
And they all said did someone make a call of distress
She let them all in and one after the other they talked
The 1st guy was seemed to be a real gentleman
From the outward appearance she saw no fault in him
He told her if you choose me we will travel the globe
I’ll buy you diamonds, chains and the finest robes
The 2nd guy reminded her of guys in her dreams
He had the physique unlike any she had seen.
He said we’ll go out to eat and set every scene on fire
And when we get home I can fulfill you every desire.
And then there was the last guy, nothing seemed special about him
And compared to the 1st two his chances seemed grim.
He looked in her eyes then bowed his head
Looked back at her and calmly said
Silver and Gold I have not
But I offer you two ears to listen
Two shoulders to cry on
Two hands to hold you
And an open heart to love you….
His words shocked her and silenced the other two
Then the three guys left so she can decide what she’ll do
After some time she took to herself
Calling and asking her friends for some help
She had searched here and there, looked near and far
Even took the time to wish on a star
She thanked God for what he had done for her thus far
Then she chose the guy who had the nicest car…..........the 2nd one..............he had a wife at home........broke the poor grils heart.

*Been a while since I did a short story. The morales of this story are:
1. That we as a people more often than not look for worldly things over the things that we really need.
2. Sometimes when we are looking for love the answer is right infront of us but we decide to go in a diferent direction.
3. God does answer our prayers but is the physical you ready to recognize/accept the blessing for your spirit
