1.
it's the epitome of spring
"Simpsons'-esque", we used to call it;
referring to the opening credits,
picture perfect white clouds
cerulean skies, and such.
Local park at the edge of a large city
regional musicians play the fans' favorites.
Starts off on Franklin's Tower,
"In another times forgotten space
Your eyes looked from your mothers face"
I, as a fan, and as an epitome victim of spring
stand close enough to the main crowd
to barter off energy, but far enough away
to spread out, to dig in like I mean it.
"roll away the dew
roll away the dew"
She, with the mornings very first collection of honey;
is feeling her freshly sprouted photosynthetic receptors,
and genuinely wishes to offer up her sweet. She see's that I
am dug in deep enough to undeniably mean it, and offers scent
from her comb.
I sing aloud,
"If you plant ice you're gonna harvest the wind"
I am thrilled with the entire display that spring is offering.
I think the trees are laughing at the fools that pluck its' fruit before it has ripened.
2.
I went to see a band
at a local park, it was beautiful out.
I like to dance a lot, it's my thing
I think it's fucking great.
Women, seem to like it as well
especially young ones, and at this park
it was no exception. Grooved hard, bumped into
a young lady, everything was gravy. Until,
she told me her age, I laughed, maybe cried a little inside,
and humbly walked away.
