blue ryder

I’m cautious of romance’s lure,
and dare not tarry where I’ve sinned.
my horse is saddled and champing to ride,
and I am restless as the wind.

lone Robin Hood, a thief of hearts,
I steal her kiss and stain her breast.
I curse the moon that shines in vain –
I follow the sun into the west.

orgasmic bliss I offered her
conceals my lack of integrity.
she knows adventure shouts my name!
and thru her tears, she spoke to me:

‘a road untraveled you will ride,
star-branded is the sky, and deep.
with poisoned lips, bid me farewell –
kiss my face and let me sleep.’
