"Warmed Over"
“Warmed Over”
They stare at me
Watch me walk by
They know I’m different
My rhythm is unsteady
I’m not as confident
As the undead
Sitting on the wall
Looking down
Storefronts go dark
Before I can reach
The windows to shop
My shoulders are slumped
And uneven
I keep my head down
But I can feel their eyes
Follow me
As I skip over the cracks
In the sidewalk
The bodies mumble
As I stumble past
Their language
I do not recognize
They stare at me
Watch me walk by
They know I’m different
My rhythm is unsteady
I’m not as confident
As the undead
Sitting on the wall
Looking down
Storefronts go dark
Before I can reach
The windows to shop
My shoulders are slumped
And uneven
I keep my head down
But I can feel their eyes
Follow me
As I skip over the cracks
In the sidewalk
The bodies mumble
As I stumble past
Their language
I do not recognize
