I'm a fan of the way the sun rises when the moon sinks
It gives me hope for the cycle of the mood swings
I try to find pleasure in the way that the wound stings
but there's enough pressure to eradicate and move kings.
It's intimidating, the way that the room shrinks
when you're all tripped up, tangled in your shoe strings
Agitated, and you might stretch too thin
Keep the stress hidden underneath a sketched on grin
Bred for the fight, built for the casket
Bonding wounds with the attitude to match it
Excuse me if I come off a bit dramatic,
But...

Catharsis
Feed me bullets like I'm starving,
empty body with no heartbeat.
Took it with you when you left-
because it belongs with you not in my chest.
I live a life with nightmare thoughts,
crippling fears and endless loss.
I'll break my own heart and leave pieces as a trail
so I can retrace my steps back to the betrayal.
Locked myself up, swallowed the key-
No one's ever gonna get close enough to damage me.
Float like a butterfly, sting like a missile-
If you're gonna play with fire you better grab it by the fist full.
Some of us aren't here to play...

Took it with you when you left-

Grew up faster than the rest of them
That was always my problem
Two steps ahead of everyone
Lost in chronic boredom

I can't be helped
There is no solution
Just incompatible pieces
To a puzzle of confusion

I scream so loud,
I shatter windows with the sound.
But no one came to help me,

Trials
You whisper ancient languages in my ear
It starts in my spine
And tingles it's way through the edge of my tears
If something comes between us,
I swear I'll find a way to fight it.
If there's a way to keep you mine,
I swear to God I'll find it.
The only thing keeping me alive
Are my bad habits
I cut my heart from my chest
Just so you could have it
Don't treat me like a wound,
Or I'll infect you like one.
Find a way to your heart,
Through your veins in your blood.
It starts in my spine
And tingles it's way through the edge of my tears

This Is Nothing
I don't care much for the dead flowers.
In fact, I'm envious in a way.
Nobody knows how much I would give,
To fall asleep and never awake.
And I can yell and I can scream,
But there won't always be a silver lining.
Every day I smile for them
But not for long, 'cause I am dying.
Of course I never wanted to be
The person that I now am
But take a look at yourselves,
Are you who you wanted to be back then?
I'm not here to make excuses,
I just thought I'd make a point.
I know you all want me dead
And I'm not one to...

Stars and Rocks
Another poem for creative writing. I don't like this format very much but it had to be a very strict free verse form; no rhyme scheme, no pentameter, etc. I hate discussing religion but I decided to put this up.
There are germs in the air,
And they make us sick to our stomachs and in our heads.
If you have ever been sick,
You have been touched by bacteria and viruses.
But did you witness the germs as they touched and infected you?
There is one thing that never stops.
No matter how hard we try, we are wasting time,
Clocks can tick away and time will...

Warmth
I can make your heart swell,
Like thousands of lakes.
And I can make you laugh so hard
Your jaw breaks.
My heart is the lock,
And your smile is the pick.
If there's a way back inside me
Only you can find it.
You got me through hell and back,
And I've had so many mixed emotions.
Are those butterflies inside me-
Or many fiery explosions?
I swear to God I'm frozen,
Come share your body heat.
Suffocating under ice,
Come share your warmth with me.
