POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Flowers and Tears
I gave flowers once
pretty as momma
placed with loving care in an album, I
was not pretty enough for
found 'em in the trash
climbed in to be with
and never gave flowers again.
Held a flower in my hand
after the last "no more"
again pretty red petals trembled
to the rhythm of my shaking will
surrendered to a love of more hope than lived
laying face down on the floor
my red demanded was little to ask
never so lovely as his crimson apologizes
'till the day
I accepted flowers no more.
Their message lost...

Take Me
Take this confusion by the mind
a self-inflicted lack
nurtured knowledge compromised
for enduring physical necessity
slowed enough to understand
ignorance rules my life
in need of patient teaching
to break through false learning
and quench a thirst to know.
Take this hollow by the heart
peace and joy inspired beats
for me, for you
turning cold like stone
a will dying
halting thumping efforts
bleeding tears of shame
for apathy clotted caring
and a life meant for giving.
Take this yearning by...

The Burdening Gift (for love of flock)
Your loyalty fades.
Invalidating my devotion,
You thrive on innumerable acts of evil
Committed upon me
Surrendering your faith
When I need you most.
Thorns of betrayal,
Piercing ever so deeply
Into my hands that serve you
My heart that loves you
My eyes that adore you,
Are buried masterfully
By your deceitful hands.
Love, faith, honor
All of high cost.
Is all I am not enough?
How can I give more?
Will my last breath
Quench your angry thirst?
Whatever your price
I stand true on...

Committed upon me

After the Bath
For a moment
I turned away
caught
in my child-like adornment
embarrassed
but just as quickly
and without thought
I returned to stare...
and she was beautiful.
Have seen beauty before
but never had I noticed hers.
My heart smiled
as she ran fingers
through auburn hair
the artistry glorious
her smooth, soft hands
topped of elegant, well manicured nails
exiting the thickness of her crowning fall warmth
in slight curls.
I watched as she trailed her presence
tracing every God given curve...

Sweet Slumber
I woke to the twining of fingers
snaking beneath warm blankets
following the arching of my leg
risen slightly
gliding curves
dividing valleys
in search of rivers.
warm breezes burrow
kissing through locks of autumn
whispering I love you
as we lay
bodies pressed and curled
twined and penetrating
drifting off together
I think
how much I love when you come home late
snaking beneath warm blankets
following the arching of my leg
risen slightly
gliding curves
dividing valleys
in search of rivers.
warm breezes burrow
kissing through locks of autumn
whispering I love you
as we lay
bodies pressed and curled
twined and penetrating
drifting off together
I think
how much I love when you come home late
