Drunk on Mead
My lord, this girl has something over me.
Was it a prayer or something evil that I just can't see.
She had me mesmerized at night
and traumatized by the morning.
Burglarized if she wanted, but my money is still intact in my wallet.
Cinderella has nothing on you.
To me she's like a fine mead and I'm a drunken Winnie the Pooh.
You must be Bell because I'm your Beast just covered in tattoos.
I'm still trying to figure out what it is truly that you do?
Love potion number 9? Or how your hips sway when you walk in those shoes.

Love Struck
I'm not to sure what it is about you that I love.
But whatever it is girl you sure got me stuck.
I text you in the morning just to make sure that you're up.
And we talk at night just because it's you that I love.
I'm glad we're building this relationship on patience and trust.
Solely on open conversation and not just another fuck.
I'm going to take my time with you because this is something other than luck.
Your voice has me hooked just like a schedule one drug.
You have me smiling throughout the day just because.

What's beaten, bloodied and pounded to a pulp?
Can be angled, entangled and possibly choked?
But before your answer. What I find truly puzzling is this.
How did you get those jeans above those hips?
You must be a magician. That is quite some trick.

Picture Texas
Texas Bluebonnet you fill my horizon like the sea.
As you dance and sway in the cool spring breeze.
Mockingbirds sing and woodpeckers peck.
As the horn toad lizard scurries for ants.
Banana spiders weave and cicadas that chirp.
Wild blackberries that taste so delicious it hurts.
Choices of oak, pecan or mesquite as firewood to barbecue meat.
These are just some of the joys that I see.
When I stop and glance at the things around me.
As you dance and sway in the cool spring breeze.

I Still Remember Clearly The First Day We Met
Those were the days of happiness and sorrows.
When we had each other and we dreamt of tomorrow.
Ten years have passed since the last time we kissed.
But there are still days that I reflect and reminisce.
I think of your laughter and how you spoke with your eyes.
