Marriage Life
I'm use to spending my days in bad weather.
Hot, cold, sleet, snow, whiteouts it didn't matter.
Pushing myself to the limits because I hated to see you sick.
Who would have thought that the moments away would be the reason that we'd eventually split.
Thank God you made it through and now the kids are grown.
The only down fall is I'm sitting at this table eating breakfast all alone.
When just 10 years ago I was singing to a different tune.
I can't say I hate you because yes I understand you, even though sometimes I wish it wasn't true.
On the outside...

Technical KnockOut
I know it's been a minute since I've placed a call.
But I had to pick myself up from when you made me fall.
It's definitely your fault that now I'm afraid of heights.
Who would have thought then, not to let this love take flight.
Like a pitbull, you sure do got a bite.
Protecting my left, as you swing with your right.
Love taps, thinking who turned out the lights.
Counting out loud but hearing them as ABC's.
Thinking how did this girl get me on my knees.
There's no doubt that you won that bout.
Now I'm training my mind that I can live...

It's just another day sitting in the rain, wondering why life always has to change.
If I could turn these hands of time, I'd set them back to when it was just the two of us drinking crown and getting high.
But those days were years ago. Sadly now I'm here trying to piece back this broken soul.
I know it's not your fault that you passed away, but I do miss the encouraging words that you use to say.

Where I Lie
As I look up at the night sky, I see exactly where I lie.
Right there in the darkness, far away from all the lights.
Where the void is vast, and not a twinkle in sight.
I shiver outside in the cold, wondering the how and the why.
Refusing to think, that this was all just a lie.
I guess I am where I am, solely alone on this night.
Not a conversation to be had, but the one within my mind.
Slightly afraid, to figure out what it is that I'll find.
But I remain optimistic, that there is still a you and I.

Baiting The Wind
She came as a cool autumn breeze, blowing about wildly and free.
Her presence touched every inch of me, from my head down to my feet.
She whispered in my ear, faint sounds that I could barely make out.
Other than the words I love you, that, I felt without a doubt.
She easily moved everything around me, from the tallest trees to the smallest blades of grass.
But it all stopped suddenly, so I sit here pondering and I ask,
"Where did my wind go? Why did it have to go by so fast?
I've contemplated plans of capture to perfection, baiting a kite for the next...

Love Accomplice
If you understand and believe in what I see, there wouldn't be a doubt in your mind.
You can run without a worry and be free, I'll make sure to be right there by your side.
If you're worried about falling, there's no need, I'll be ready to catch you every time.
I closed my eyes and I made a wish, then abra cadabra you were magically mine.
I know it's crazy but I'm just saying, that everything will eventually be fine.
Don't worry I'm not going to lose you, I'll make sure to always hold your hand this time.
A love like this should be illegal, or at best...

Disguised Princesses
When beauty fades and all that's left, are betrayals, lies, and hatefulness.
Trying to hide yourself behind smiling emojis and it's all goods.
Doesn't mean that your words were misunderstood.
It's not like makeup, you can't hide the jabs.
The this and that or the that and this, and think the context was completely missed.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but it's kind of hard to ignore the words that come out their mouth.
Things haven't changed. You're still trying to keep me down, by smothering my happiness and putting new flames out. ...

I lie here thinking, when you don't answer, what is a man to do.
It's not that I worry, it's just that I get bored, not having you to talk too.
I twiddle my thumbs, and try to past the time away, but patience is the hardest virtue.
They say, "Good things come to those who wait" attributed to Violet Fane in 1892.

Icarus's - The Sun
You would be surprised by the things I have seen.
And probably run away if you truly knew who I use to be.
If I was Superman, you would be my sun giving me life again.
But I'm more like Icarus, an arrogant and sinful man.
Who was never really into following God's master plan.
But since I have met you, I would follow you into heaven, scaling fences again and again.
For you there is nothing I wouldn't do.
This much I know is true.
I'd fly up to the heavens, just to barrel back to earth for a moment with you.

Sometimes when I start to write, everything just pours out right.
It just feels so nice, when lightening strikes the same place twice.
Because that's what I have with you, multiplied times the number two.
I can't really explain it, I just know that I have seen it.
I wait impatiently to see where we go from here, will it be far or will it be near.
I really don't care where, as long as we're both standing there.
I know that you feel this, the temptation is too hard to resist.
You're a fatal attraction, but with your laughter being like a kiss.

Confused and afraid to even turn around.
I would hate to lose sight of what I finally found.

You really got me in love, that you truly do.
